Question 3

Q.  What is the difference between mass and weight?

A.  Mass is a fundamental physical quantity.  It is a measure of how much matter an object is made up of.  Weight is a measure of how strongly gravity pulls on an object.  It is derived by multiplying an object's mass by the force of gravity.  An object mass is always constant, but an objects weight depends on the strength of gravity.  Gravity is stronger on earth than it is on the moon, therefore an object will weigh less on the moon than it would on earth.
